Frequently Asked Questions

How do I scan a document?

Open the Scan tab and point the camera at the document. SlipCase detects document edges, helps capture the page, and lets you adjust borders, crop, filter, rotate, reorder, and save pages after scanning. You choose or adjust organization details during review instead of before capture.

Can I import photos or PDF files?

Yes. Use the import button from Library or Scan to choose photos from your library or files from the Files app. SlipCase supports common image files and PDF documents, and imported pages can be reviewed before saving.

Where are my documents stored?

Your documents are stored on your device. When iCloud is available, documents, pages, folders, and tags sync through your Apple CloudKit private database so your devices signed in to the same Apple ID can access them. The developer cannot access your documents.

What if iCloud sync is not working?

Check that the device is signed in to iCloud, iCloud Drive is available, SlipCase has iCloud access, and the network is connected. Sync may take a few minutes. If CloudKit is unavailable, SlipCase shows the current storage mode in Settings and keeps documents local.

How do I organize documents?

You can use folders, categories, tags, favorites, archive status, and search to keep documents organized. Built-in categories can be reset, and custom folders and categories can be managed from the app.

Does SlipCase support text search?

Yes. SlipCase uses on-device OCR for scanned and imported pages, then includes recognized text in local search. OCR currently targets Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English, and Japanese.

How do I lock documents?

Open a document, use the More menu, and choose Lock. Locked documents require Face ID or Touch ID before opening. You can also enable app-level biometric lock in Settings.

How do I export documents?

Open a document and tap Export. You can export PDF or PNG files, combine multiple pages into one output, apply purpose watermarks, and add password protection to PDF exports.

What are the free limits?

The free version supports up to 10 saved documents and 20 saved pages. These limits are based on what is saved in your library, not how many times you scan or import. SlipCase Pro unlocks unlimited documents and pages.

What does SlipCase Pro include?

SlipCase Pro unlocks unlimited documents, unlimited pages, and Pro-only features such as custom watermark presets. Monthly and yearly subscriptions are handled by Apple through StoreKit.

How do I restore purchases?

Open Settings and tap Restore Purchases in the subscription section, or use Restore Purchases from the Pro paywall. Make sure you are signed in with the Apple ID that purchased the subscription.

How do I cancel a subscription?

Open iOS Settings, tap your Apple ID, choose Subscriptions, select SlipCase Pro, and cancel there. After cancellation, Pro remains active until the current paid period ends.
